Results MotoGP Valencia Pecco Bagnaia and Ducati, World Champion
The flag for finishing the 2022 MotoGP racing series officially flew for the last time at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, Valencia on Sunday (6/10/22) evening WIB. Along with this, Francesco 'Pecco' Bagnaia finally made his name as the 2022 MotoGP world champion.
It feels like MotoGP 2022 is summed up in one last race in Valencia. The last race of the 2022 season was fierce, full of hope, and became Suzuki's farewell moment from MotoGP. But finally the 2022 Valencia MotoGP was won by Alex Rins, Brad Binder, and Jorge Martin. So how's the race going?
A few minutes before the red light went out at MotoGP Valencia, all the drivers who used medium-hard tires entered the starting grid. The two drivers in the spotlight today are Pecco Bagnaia and Fabio Quartararo.
Pecco looked serious and focused on keeping his supporters' hopes alive, while Fabio Quartararo looked carefree. The Yamaha factory racer is just waiting for the 'windfall', where Pecco cannot finish the race or finish in the top 15, and he manages to win the highest podium. So this condition made him the 2022 MotoGP world champion.
As soon as the red light went out, Quartararo, who was passionately pursuing luck, immediately ran away looking for the leading position. Meanwhile, Pecco looked cautious and stole strategic positions. However, the highlight at the start of this race and managed to steal the holeshot was the Suzuki racer, Alex Rins.
Alex Rins dictated the race from the start. Followed by Jorge Martin, Jack Miller, Marc Marquez, Pecco Bagnaia, and Quartarao.
Drama had occurred at the start of the race, where Quartararo, who was trying to get into 4th place, was immediately closed aggressively by Miller. This condition made Quartararo and Pecco Bagnaia touch each other, causing Pecco's motorbike winglet to bounce off. But Pecco remained in position
The early laps were fierce with several riders trying to harass Pecco Bagnaia until he was pushed back. Pecco, who appeared defensive, didn't look too aggressive. Meanwhile Quartararo continues to maintain hope by entering the top 5.
When the race lasted 10 laps, Honda's proud racer, Marc Marquez, had to leave the race due to a crash at corner 8. Marquez was unable to control his motorbike when he maneuvered to the left.
Apart from Marquez, Jack Miller, who appeared to be adamant, had to finish racing first. On the 22nd lap, the Australian racer had to fall at the 11th corner. This made Jorge Martin and Brad Binder fight for the top two positions.
Pecco Bagnaia's path to becoming the 2022 MotoGP world champion was truly full of struggles. The Italian racer was repeatedly bullied until he finally finished ninth.
Meanwhile Quartararo, despite finishing the race in fourth place, could not interfere with Pecco's path to becoming world champion.
History was recorded at the 2022 Valencia MotoGP, where Pecco Bagnaia finally won the 2022 MotoGP world. In addition, Pecco finally returned to being a racer from Italy who won the world using a motorbike from Italy after 50 years.
Pecco also finally became a racer from Italy who won, after being last done by Valentino Rossi in 2009.
On the other hand, MotoGP Valencia 2022 will also be the final stage for Suzuki to compete in MotoGP. Suzuki's farewell was sweetly closed by Alex Rins' victory.
